A 3D interactive experience that brings Apple's products to life.

Overview
Context
We know people love visiting the Apple Store and trying out products before buying them. There’s nothing better than holding a new iPhone in your hand to decide whether it's the one for you. However, our customers don't always have access to an Apple Store and our team was asked to envision the next best thing to the experience of physically holding and exploring a product.
Goal
How might we bridge the gap between the retail and online experience and offer our user's the experience of holding a product while on our website?
Result
A 3D interactive product viewing experience that highlights the hardware design story.

M Y R O L E
Prototyping
As the experience has a variety of dynamic motion, I created high fidelity prototypes with motion and animation for teams to test their creative assets and give feedback.
Scaling strategy
I explored how our designs would scale to other products like the Apple Watch, AirPods, iPad, Mac and more.
Motion design
We explored a large landscape of ideas when it comes to flow, animation, and storytelling to find the sweet spot that would engage and delight.
User testing
We attended user testing sessions to see how people were feeling about our ideas and prototypes which helped us finalize our direction.

Design that transcends language
When we design for our apple.com we're always considering how our designs will translate into many different languages for our users around the world. To design at a global scale we explored creative ways to use motion, imagery and icons in a way that transcends the need for language.
A 3D immersive experience
The ability to rotate the product in 3D is the centerpiece of our design. Our users can now explore all angles and views as if they were holding the product in their hands.
Adaptive design for seamless storytelling
The design deftly adapts and transitions between different modes of experience from 3D to image and video. This allows various teams across Apple greater flexibility in how they can use the 3D viewer to showcase their product.

Scale across the Apple universe
We made sure the 3D viewer would provide an amazing experience for all of Apple's products. Our design concept needed to scale well across iPhone, iPad, Mac, AirPods, Watch and other products.
